Jurassic World: Dominion will bring the original Jurassic crew Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neill and the Queen Laura Dern to our modern pals led by Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. Dominion finds the world overrun by dinosaurs who aren’t playing so nice with our modern food chain. Seems like someone should have warned the scientists who brought dinosaurs back about that!
The Jurassic Park mythos has always lived in tension with itself. The first one was a pretty uncomplicated lesson about what a bad idea it was to resurrect dinosaurs, but the sequels have been a little more muddied, with our heroes alternating between saving the dinosaurs while also saving their own skins and squeezing in a lesson about the ecological system. Look, the ethics are murky, but that’s not why anyone is here anyway. We’re here to watch dinosaurs chase Laura Dern around, soundtracked by one of John Williams’ greatest bangers. And on that front, it looks like Dominion delivers.
