John Mulaney Will Reunite With the ‘Sack Lunch Bunch’ for Two New Comedy Specials

John Mulaney’s Sack Lunch Bunch was a Netflix comedy gift — a children’s special that both satirized the genre while also serving as a pretty good example of it, with lots of charming tunes to keep kids happy and lots of jokes and celebrity cameos that worked on multiple levels for every age demographic. Mulaney’s as a sharp as comedians get these days and he knows a good thing when he sees it, so he’s reuniting the gang for another go — this time on Comedy Central.

One of the shows will apparently be a holiday special, and we don’t have any details about the other but hopefully, they’ll find time to bring back guests like David Byrne and Jake Gyllenhaal. Fingers crossed for another Natasha Lyonne segment as well.

“I was an intern at Comedy Central when I was barely older than the kids in the Sack Lunch Bunch. I wasn’t a very good intern, so I am psyched,” Mulaney said in a press release. “They hired me again. We are thrilled to bring these specials to Comedy Central: a place where I have had so many good times.”
