Jonah Hill Gets Real About Therapy in ‘Stutz’

Jonah Hill is giving audiences a very personal look at his journey with therapy, and the therapist who helped him, in Stutz.

Hill directed the documentary about his friend and shrink, Dr. Phil Stutz, while exploring the tools one needs to “get real, get personal and get better.”

“My life has gotten immeasurably better, as a result of working with [Stutz],” Hill says in the trailer. “If it worked for me, maybe it will work for other people.”

Together, Hill and Stutz explore the power of vulnerability, community and accountability as it relates to strengthening one’s life. Hill has been outspoken about his mental health journey for years, sharing in interviews and on social media how time in therapy has completely changed his life.

“With ‘Stutz,’ I’m hoping to make it more normal for people to talk and act on this stuff,” Hill shared earlier this year, “so they can take steps towards feeling better and so that the people in their lives might understand their issues more clearly.”

Stutz will premiere Nov. 14 on Netflix.
