Next up in the “based on a true story” genre of filmmaking is an exceedingly earnest-looking story about two outcasts who take to the sky in a giant hot air balloon in the name of science.
Given that Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones are the outcasts in question, you can bet there will be plenty of fun to be had — maybe enough that one can overlook just how loosely this story is based on any true story.
Hard to hate a movie with its heart so firmly on its sleeve. We’ll see just how high it can go come December.
