Selena Gomez Is Extra Candid About Her Mental Health in the Trailer for ‘My Mind and Me’

Apple TV+ has unveiled the first trailer for My Mind and Me, the documentary about Selena Gomez’s battle with mental health. The trailer dropped on Monday to commemorate World Mental Health Day.

“Just be who you are, Selena. No one cares about what you’re doing,” Gomez says to herself in the trailer. “It’s about who I am, being okay with where I am. I am grateful to be alive.”

Gomez’s career as a pop star (45 billion streams globally), an actor (watch Only Murders in the Building!) and an influencer (she was the most followed woman on Instagram until 2019, when Ariana Grande snuck ahead) has long been candid about her struggles with her health month physically and mentally. After making headlines with her lupus diagnosis, Gomez became extremely candid online about depression and anxiety.

“I had no interest in making a traditional pop doc,” director Alek Keshishian told Variety. “I wanted to show something more authentic and Selena did, too. She has a raw vulnerability that captured me… I had no idea then that it would become a six-year labor of love.”
