Something Very Weird Is Afoot in the First Trailer for Kristen Wiig’s ‘Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar’

Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo are re-teaming for the first time since Bridesmaids to co-star in a movie they co-wrote about …uh, what is it about exactly? The very weird teaser doesn’t give much away. Even the movie’s tagline leaves almost everything to the imagination: “Lifelong friends Barb and Star embark on the adventure of a lifetime when they decide to leave their small Midwestern town for the first time.” All we really have a Tim & Eric style trailer and the tile, Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar. Well, OK, then. It’s directed by Josh Greenbaum, who cut his teeth helming TV shows like New Girl and Fresh Off the Boat and also features appearances from Jamie Dornan and Damon Wayans Jr. If you want to know more than that, you’ll probably have to wait until February.
