The First Trailer for Alex Garland’s ‘Men’ Features Very Few Men But Lots of Mysterious Imagery
Alex Garland is quickly becoming one of Hollywood’s go-to guys for cerebral sci-fi, having churned out some gorgeous speculative fiction with movies like Ex Machina and Annihilation. Now he’s back with Men, starring newly minted Oscar nominee Jessie Buckley, who you most recently saw in The Lost Daughter. She’s playing Harper, a woman who …well, what is she doing, exactly? The trailer doesn’t tell us much, but apparently she’s recently taken a trip to the English countryside to mourn a tragic loss, only things aren’t quite as peaceful as she’d hoped. Recovering from trauma is just never simple in these A24 movies.
It’ll hit theaters in May, and also stars Rory Kinnear and Paapa Essiedu. Can’t wait.
