Trailer: A24’s ‘Funny Pages’ Puts a New Spin on the Coming-of-Age Movie

We’ve got our first trailer for A24’s Funny Pages, and it looks like a real coming of age winner from the studio that gave us Lady Bird. The movie is billing itself as “a bitingly funny coming-of-age story of a teenage cartoonist who rejects the comforts of his suburban life in a misguided quest for soul,” which certainly sounds fun. And the contours of the story should look familiar to anyone who’s ever decided to risk it all for their professional dream. Funny Pages marks Owen Kline’s feature debut and Cannes was wild about it, but this movie also has a secret weapon: a producer credit from Josh and Benny Safdie. Sounds like one to keep an eye on.
