One of the buzziest pictures coming out of the festival circuit this year was A24’s Causeway, helmed by first time feature director Lila Neugebauer. The movie unites Jennifer Lawrence and Bryan Tyree Henry as two damaged individuals (Lawrence’s character by her time in Afghanistan, Henry’s for more mysterious reasons) who form a bond with each other in a New Orleans homecoming.
The trailer brings Lawrence back to her Winter’s Bone roots to the quiet, homespun dramas in which she really shines. It also gives Henry, who’s spent this year in a lot of big budget movies like Bullet Train and Eternals, a chance to show what he’s capable of when not having to talk to tennis balls in front of a green screen.
The movie will debut on Apple TV Plus on November 4.
