Will Forte, Colin Jost and Kumail Nanjiani are joining the cast of Nate Bargatze’s The Breadwinner, the comedian’s debut film. The cast also includes Zach Cherry, Kate Berlant and Martin Herlihy, with Mandy Moore playing Bargatze’s on-screen wife.
The film follows Bargatze’s character, a traditional family man whose world is flipped when his ambitious wife lands a life-changing deal on Shark Tank. Suddenly demoted to stay-at-home dad, he quickly realizes he’s in over his head.
“It’s in the vein of Mr. Mom and Home Alone,” Bargatze told RELEVANT.
Bargatze co-wrote the script and is producing alongside Dan Lagana (American Vandal). Production kicks off next week in Atlanta.
The Breadwinner will hit theaters March 13, 2026.
