Donald Glover, AKA Childish Gambino, confirmed on Wednesday while walking the Golden Globes red carpet that he’s currently in the studio making new music.
“I’m making music right now, I love it,” he said. “I’m actually working, I’m in the studio. I’ve been bringing people in, like secret people, working on little things.”
“I just been like, you know, making it for fun right now, but soon something will happen, I promise. Something will happen.”
That’s a surprise, considering Glover saying in 2017 that he was hanging up the Childish Gambino moniker to focus more on other aspects of his career. After he released 3.15.20 in 2020, we all but assumed that was the end.
“No, no no, that was out in the ethos,” he said about the rumors that he was retiring Childish Gambino for good.
“You don’t have to worry about that. He will be back.”
