Exclusive: Check Out This Excellent Short Documentary About ‘Heathen’, GAWVI’s Upcoming Album

On April 10, we’re getting a brand new album from GAWVI, the excellent Reach Records hip-hop artist who’s produced everyone from Lecrae to Trip Lee to Andy Mineo. GAWVI’s an insanely excellent rapper in his own right, so any new work from him is a much-needed bright spot for our self-quarantined hearts.

That’s why we’re pumped for his upcoming album Heathen, and we’re just as pumped to exclusively premiere this short documentary about the controversial album and why GAWVI’s so excited to “shift and disrupt” the music industry. It’s a great watch that’s got us even more excited for the new music.

“The word ‘heathen’ is a bold word that I feel the Christian culture requires an explanation for,” GAWVI told us. “So this is my way of explaining the direction I am going with my music and who I am trying to reach because it is not what the Christian culture is used to receiving.”

“To those who feel like they don’t have it all figured out and are in hiding, I want the word heathen to bring them comfort, to let them know it is okay to embrace who you are and where you are in life,” GAWVI continued. “I want to give the word a new meaning of love and acceptance. “

The album’s second single “Climate Change”, which GAWVI recorded with Aklesso and Wordsplayed, is out now and you can (and should) check it out on Spotify, Apple Music or wherever you listen to your music. Or just listen below.

Heathen will be available everywhere on April 10.
