Hayley Williams’ New Tour Could Be the Solution to the Ticketmaster Scalping Crisis

Hayley Williams doesn’t want her fans experiencing ego death in the Ticketmaster queue.

Next year, the Paramore frontwoman will finally launch her long-delayed solo tour for Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party — but she’s determined to keep it from turning into another ticketing nightmare.

“I’ve had countless conversations with my team, and they’ve spent countless hours trying to find the best solution for fans,” Williams wrote on Instagram. “It’s been tough, and unfortunately, there’s just no way to guarantee that zero tickets get scalped. But we’re doing our best.”

Her “best” looks refreshingly fan-first: a 24-hour presale registration window requiring fans to verify both phone and email before getting a unique code. Each person can only register once, and the code simply confirms you’re human — not a bot. Buyers are limited to four tickets per show (and up to three shows total).

After the presale, Williams will use Ticketmaster’s “Face Value Exchange,” allowing resale only at the original price. She’s also disabling ticket transfers in every city except where state laws forbid it (New York, Chicago and Amsterdam), effectively cutting off scalpers at the source.

“I know this won’t be perfect,” she said. “You shouldn’t have to jump through hoops to buy tickets, but it’s a broken system. My team and I are doing everything we can to get as many tickets into the hands of my fans (at face value) as possible.”

It’s not a total fix — but it’s a rare act of resistance against an industry giant that’s faced mounting criticism. Ticketmaster has been under fire for years for its hidden fees, inflated resale prices, and monopolistic control over live events. The company has faced lawsuits from fans and lawmakers alike, accused of “deceptive practices” and anticompetitive behavior. After the infamous Eras Tour fiasco, which left millions of Swifties empty-handed, the Department of Justice even launched an antitrust investigation into Live Nation, Ticketmaster’s parent company.

Williams isn’t pretending she can dismantle that machine. But she’s doing what few artists do — taking responsibility for how her fans experience her shows and refusing to play by the system’s worst rules.

Presale registration is open now at HayleyWilliams.com, and she warns there’s “no guarantee” of tickets afterward. For those who make it in, Williams promises, “We’ll dance, scream and cry together.”
