Kanye West is many things. Business entrepreneur. Fashion mogul. Reality TV star. Worship leader. Rightwing political activist. So many things, actually, that it’s easy to forget where he really started: hip-hop artist. And it looks like he might be getting back to those roots in short order, if an Instagram story from his wife Kim Kardashian is any indicator.

Hmm. If you were a betting person, you might gamble that this is a tracklist for an album dropping on September 27th — one called Jesus Is King. And since Kim is not yet known for her music career, you might also guess that this involved her husband.
It would be pretty on-brand at the moment.
Kanye’s latest output has been extremely spiritual in terms of its thematic content, going so far as to rewrite some Nirvana songs with Christian lyrics for one of his famed Sunday Services. It doesn’t look like those Christian Nirvana covers made the cut for this possible new album, but stay tuned. If there’s anything Kanye does, it’s keep folks on their toes.
