JOHNNYSWIM have announced their fifth, full-length project When The War Is Over will drop on Feb. 7, 2025.
This is their first album since their self-titled project in 2022. Since then, Abner and Amanda Ramirez have been through a lot as a family, raising their three kids while touring the world, and overcoming a variety of physical and mental health issues along the way.
“This album means so much to us because it represents a significant chapter in our lives,” they shared on Instagram. “Both of us have been navigating our own emotional and physical health challenges over the last few years, and it’s a testament to that journey. In many ways, this album reflects our acceptance of the challenges we’ve faced, embracing the honesty we’ve always pursued in our songwriting. It’s for anyone who has faced their own battles—physical or emotional—and is looking for music to walk with them through it.”
The band shared that they got pretty experimental with this record, inviting friends from different backgrounds and genres to help bring the songs to life. That includes Houston rapper Tobe Nwigwe, a close friend of the band, for the song “Dopamine.”
The duo have already released four songs that will be featured on the upcoming project, including their latest single, “Los Feliz.”
Along with the album announcement, JOHNNYSWIM will also kick off their next tour in Indianapolis, Indiana, on March 20.
