Lana Del Rey is doubling her next album drop.
In a lengthy Instagram post, the singer revealed that Stove, the record she’s been teasing under various titles for two years, will be joined by a second full-length project she called her “beautiful, secondary album.”
Del Rey described the companion record, Spyda, as something that emerged almost by accident while she finished Stove. She wrote that new songs kept surfacing in the space between sessions, born out of “old friends and new dreams,” and that what started as a side project grew into a “large companion album” she called “a commentary of sorts on everything that has been going on” — the waiting, the doubt, and what she described as trusting that “not all the things that weren’t working was just because of me.”
That kind of reflection has tracked closely with Del Rey’s faith since her last album. Ocean Blvd featured a sermon interlude from Judah Smith, the Churchome pastor she’s continued to lean on in the years since — he officiated her September 2024 wedding to Jeremy Dufrene, and she’s been spotted at his Beverly Hills church repeatedly, most recently this spring. Given how openly she’s tied this new era to doubt, patience and things quietly falling into place, it wouldn’t be a surprise if faith surfaces on the companion album the way it did on “Ocean Blvd.”
