Looks Like the Angel Olsen, Julien Baker and Sharon Van Etten Crossover We Didn’t Know We Needed Is Happening

The first really exciting music crossover of 2022 looks like it might be right around the corner. On Friday, Angel Olsen, Julien Baker and Sharon Van Etten each posted a blurry photo of themselves with the caption “Monday.” Monday? That’s just a few days from now!

Olsen and Van Etten are already a known force, having collaborated on 2021’s “Like I Used To” — one of the absolute best tracks of the year. Since then, Olsen has released an excellent EP of covers called Aisles and Van Etten dropped a new single ‘Femme Fatale.”

Baker would be a new addition to this creative team-up, but you’ll never hear us complain about more of her. Her supergroup Boygenius (with Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus) was an instant phenom, and last year’s Little Oblivions was one our favorite albums of 2021.

So, all that to say, whatever’s happening on Monday should be worth our time. Stay tuned. In the meantime, here are some classic jams to get you in a Baker/Olsen/Van Etten mood.

Here’s Van Etten and Olsen playing “Like I Used To” at the Pitchfork Music Festival.

And here’s Baker’s Tiny Desk performance from 2018.
