Dust off your synth presets and your emotional baggage—it looks like Tame Impala is back.
Kevin Parker, the one-man psych-pop machine behind Tame Impala, just posted what looks a lot like an album teaser, putting the Internet’s favorite perfectionist millennial dad-rocker officially back on our radar.
The post, captioned “Been busy,” reads like a highlight reel of Parker’s year so far: shots of him recording, eating dinner, DJing and standing next to his very pregnant wife, Sophie Lawrence. But the kicker is buried at the end—a simple progress chart showing 13 songs, all checked off and marked “done.”

It’s been five years since The Slow Rush, and while Parker’s popped up on the occasional DJ lineup or collab feature, Tame Impala’s been pretty quiet—until now. The tracklist tease, combined with a few recent DJ sets (including one post-Primavera Sound where he played an unreleased song), has fans putting the pieces together. He’s also set to open for Justice later this year in Australia.
To be clear: no official album has been announced. But if you know how Parker operates, you know this is usually how it starts—low-key, cryptic and algorithm-proof. A breadcrumb trail for the terminally online.
But something’s definitely coming. And if your taste in music froze somewhere between Lonerism and your first car seat installation, congratulations: it might be your time again.
