Andy Mineo and nobigdyl. are getting creative ahead of Friday’s release of their new single, “Rotation.”
Instead of teasing the track with another countdown or social media snippet, the duo launched Rotation Run, a browser-based game at lovejoypeacepatience.com that lets fans literally play their way through the rollout.
Players choose a career path, navigate a series of arcade-style levels to collect the Fruit of the Spirit and, after beating each stage, unlock a stem from the upcoming song. To hear the full preview, users are asked to enter their email address and pre-save the project, turning the rollout into part game, part scavenger hunt and part album campaign.
It’s the kind of interactive release strategy that feels increasingly rare in the streaming era, where most album rollouts begin and end with a pre-save link. Mineo and nobigdyl., instead, built an experience fans can actually spend time with before the music arrives.
“Rotation” drops Friday. Until then, you’ve got a game to beat.
