Last week was Taylor Swift’s moment in the spotlight, and this week it’s all about Adele.
Ahead of her album’s Friday release, the British singer sang her new song “To Be Loved” while casually sitting on her couch. Listening to Adele sing about how she tried to be loved and the sacrifices she made in her relationship will have you reaching for the tissues before you even get to the chorus.

Adele has announced previously that 30 will recount her recent divorce, and her first single “Easy on Me,” gave us a glimpse at the sort of heartbreak Adele has been going through. On Sunday, she performed for One Night Only for Oprah and sang three songs off the new album: “I Drink Wine,” “Hold On” and “Love is a Game.” And today, sitting casually on her couch, Adele reminded us that not many people in the business can compete with her for sheer vocal power, not that we needed reminding.
