Netflix has already disrupted traditional TV with its original series such as House of Cards and Orange is the New Black, but now it’s taking the next step: making a movie. The video streaming service will be working with Harvey Weinstein to create Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend (a sequel of sorts to the popular movie released in 2000). The movie will release on Netflix and have a short run in IMAX theaters in late August of 2015. “The moviegoing experience is evolving quickly and profoundly, and Netflix is unquestionably at the forefront of that movement,” Weinstein said in a statement. “We are tremendously excited to be continuing our great relationship with Netflix and bringing to fans all over the world the latest chapter in this amazing and intriguing story” …
