New Music Friday Roundup: Hillsong Young and Free, NEEDTOBREATHE, and More

It’s Friday and a few artists are starting to slowly emerge from their pandemic lockdowns to drop some new tunes before the weekend. Here are a few releases that should be on your radar this week.

NEEDTOBREATHE: Out of Body

NEEDTOBREATHE is back with a fresh collection of rootsy Americana and introspective lyrics that explore personal identity, emotional health and learning to deserve love. One huge album standout is “Survival,” featuring Drew and Ellie Holcomb. Check out the stripped-down performance below.

Hillsong Young & Free: All of My Best Friends

Hillsong Y+F is back with its enormously anticipated fourth album. “These songs were written with the youth in mind and yet, they transcend,” the band wrote in a statement. “Songs to inspire you towards salvation. Songs to rally us around unity. Songs to exhort us into looking beyond our own windows. Songs that challenge the status quo. Songs that celebrate the inclusive nature of our God. And songs that draw us closer to Jesus.”

Check out the band’s short documentary on the making of All of My Best Friends below.
