Tommy, Angelica, Doug Funnie, Patti Mayonnaise, Arnold and other beloved characters from your childhood may soon be returning to TV. According to a report in Variety, executives at Nickelodeon are in discussions to bring back classic shows from the network’s early days, like Rugrats, Hey Arnold!, You Can’t Do that on Television, Doug and others.
Nick’s president of content and development wouldn’t give Variety any details as to which shows they were planning on revisiting (or if they would be coming back as series or TV movies), instead simply explaining, “We are looking at our library to bring back ideas, shows that were loved, in a fresh new way.” He said now is the time to revive the shows, because many of the millennials who grew up on Nickelodeon now have kids themselves. He said, “We are getting ready to bring back some of the ones they’ve told us multiple times they want to have brought back.” Quail-Man will fly again!
