The Strokes have a famously distant relationship with each other. It’s not that they seem like they don’t get along. It’s just that they don’t seem like they get together much, period. During the recording of 2011’s Angles, lead singer Julian Casablancas didn’t even bother to show up in the studio with the band, opting instead to record his tracks alone and send them in separately. So it comes as a surprise that the NYC-based music festival The Governor’s Ball netted them as a headliner for its lineup, along with Jack White, Vampire Weekend and Outkast.
