A company called Aero-X is now taking deposits for its new hoverbike thing that they say will be available by 2017. Though the futuristic vehicles will set consumers back a cool $85K, the makers have grander ambitions than just making an awesome mode of sci-fi inspired commuter transportation. They hope that their vehicles—that can go 45 m.p.h.—will be an asset to people like disaster relief workers who will be able to hover over hazardous terrain.
