Before the X-Men were blockbuster superstars at the box office, many children of the ‘90s remember them for the comic books and their afternoon cartoon TV show.
Sure, visually, the show doesn’t hold up to today’s animation standards, but it contains some really powerful storytelling and some surprisingly complex character development.
In this scene, not only do Wolverine and Nightcrawler engage in a theological debate about sin and redemption, but Wolverine ends up also taking time pray, and invite God into his life. It’s a pretty powerful moment for a kid’s show.
