American Idol, that show you probably haven’t watched since high school, airs its final episode tonight. Besides being solely responsible for the creation of From Justin to Kelly, the show pioneered television competition shows, discovered big names like Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood and was a comforting source of entertainment for 15 years (even if you haven’t watched it in five).
