Seth Meyers Says Goodbye to ‘SNL’ on Feb. 1

The man whose smirk helped deliver countless jokes from behind the Weekend Update desk is officially saying goodbye to Saturday Night Live on Feb. 1. Meyers told a group of reporters at the Television Critics Association that doing his last show would be “heartbreaking”, but he’s looking forward to his new job as the host of Late Night. In an interview with USA Today, Meyers said he still plans on taking some of his most popular SNL bits, like mock news-style interviews with fictional characters, with him to his new post-SNL gig. “We are going to have a monologue, guests, music, comedian, but the biggest way we can define ourselves is the two or three acts of comedy before the guests come out.” We’re no TV experts, but throwing some “acts of comedy” into a late night show sounds like a good idea to us …
