Following the death of actress Marcia Wallace, The Simpsons’ executive producer Al Jean issued a statement saying that the show will “retire her irreplaceable character,” Springfield Elementary teacher Ms. Krabappel. Wallace’s iconic character made her debut on the show’s second episode, and has been a staple of the animated series for more than 23 years.
