Sir Patrick Stewart is about to boldly go where no Shakespearean actor has gone before. The former Star Trek captain has officially been cast as ‘Poop’ in The Emoji Movie.
You read that right. The formally trained and highly esteemed British actor will be playing a cartoon smiling poop emoji. The announcement was made from the Sony Pictures Twitter account, which really is the only appropriate way to advertise a movie about emojis.
James Corden and Maya Rudolph have also been cast as voices in the animated film which will hit theaters on August 4, 2017.
