The career of rap icon Snoop Dogg has taken another interesting turn.

The Christian TV channel The Impact Network has announced that it will air a reality show starring Snoop. The network is home to shows from evangelists and pastors including T.D. Jakes, Creflo Dollar, Rod Parsley, Joyce Meyer and others.

The show will follow his journey to make a gospel album that may include collaborations with artists like Mary Mary and Fred Hammond.

Here’s their synopsis:

See Snoop Dogg on his journey as a husband, father and community caretaker. Go inside the album as he reveals his source of inspiration. Hear Snoop’s personal testimony and stories of God’s grace through his many trials and tribulations.

Snoop Dogg’s mother is an evangelist, and in a recent Instagram post, he shared a text message exchange with her, informing her that he would be making a gospel album and thanking her for “showing me how to live and to spread the word.”

She replied, “Praise the Lord. You are very welcome. The more you share with others, the more you will reap more benefits. The more the Lord will enlarge your territory and bless you indeed. I am so grateful to the Lord for you and how God is moving you in the direction to bless His people through the Word of God, what better way through you doing a Gospel album.”
