Atlanta Falcons rookie running back Nate Carter is using his platform to promote something bigger than football: his faith.
On Instagram, Carter regularly encourages his followers to trust God and boldly live for Jesus. His posts are less about highlights and more about pointing people toward faith.
“The Gospel gives us purpose: to know God, to make Him known, to glorify Him, and to reflect Christ in the world,” Carter wrote in one post.
He often challenges his followers to move beyond surface-level belief.
“There is a difference between simply believing in Jesus and truly following Him as a disciple,” he said.
Much of Carter’s encouragement is directed at those who feel unfulfilled by chasing what the world offers.
“If the world hasn’t satisfied you, there is hope,” he wrote. “Try Jesus. Taste and see. Experience the goodness of God.”
Carter’s perspective has been shaped not only by faith but also by his journey through football. A standout at UConn, he became known for his toughness and versatility in the backfield before making his way to the NFL. Now with Atlanta, he’s continued to prove himself as a reliable option, showing flashes of potential that hint at a promising future in the league.
Still, Carter insists that his identity isn’t tied to stats or playing time.
“Through faith in Christ alone, our identity changes: we become sons, daughters, and friends of God,” he said.
Even when reflecting on his career, he points back to God’s plan over his own ambitions.
“When God calls us to something, it’s not about what we might achieve,” he wrote. “It’s about how His glory will be revealed through our obedience.”
For Carter, the message is clear: football is a gift, but faith is the foundation. And in a league where some players go quiet about belief, he’s determined to keep speaking boldly about the hope he’s found in Christ.
