Study: Ignoring Phone Calls and Texts Is a Sign of Happiness

According to a new study, people who regularly ignore calls, social media alerts and text messages are happier than those who are always on their phone. Researchers followed the tech habits of 500 students and then examined how their mobile behavior affected their overall outlook. They found that those who were constantly responding to messages were more likely to suffer from anxiety. One the researchers also noted that constant connection has another negative consequence that affects mental health: a lack of stillness: He told The Daily Mail, “There is no me-time or solitude left in some of these students’ lives, and I think mental health requires a bit of personal alone time to reflect, look inward, process life’s events and just recover from daily stressors.” Outwardly, Zach Morris seemed to have it all, but was his oversized cell phone really just a cry for help? …
