Singer/songwriter Sufjan Stevens has posted a letter addressed to “America” concerning the recent ban on refugees. He wrote, “We all come from somewhere else.” He also said that “Christ would be ashamed” of actions that have led to the “decimation and alienation of others.”
He wrote,
Everything is possible. Not everything is permissible. But change is inevitable. Embrace it. The world is abundant. We are merely stewards. The life you live is not your own.
He ended with the words, “I love you and I pray for you daily.”
