AMC, the network behind massive anti-hero hits including The Walking Dead, Mad Men and Breaking Bad, has announced two new original dramas, and surprise, they both sound really dark. Knifeman will follow a real-life 18th-century doctor who perfected modern surgical techniques by practicing on stolen corpses—you know, just your average breezy primetime fare. According to Variety, in the thriller Galyntine, the world is thrown into a post-apocalyptic hellscape after a disaster wipes out all of humanities’ technology as “small bands of survivors are forced to adapt.” Let’s just hope this new direction for the network works out OK for them.
