Fresh on the heels of record-setting hit movie Jesus Revolution, directors Andrew and Jon Erwin are movie forward another faith-based movie, and this time they’re bringing along two-time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank.
Ordinary Angels tells the true story of Sharon Stevens (Swank), a “fierce but struggling hairdresser in small-town Kentucky who discovers a renewed sense of purpose when she meets Ed Schmitt (Alan Ritchson), a widower working hard to make ends meet for his two daughters.”
An overview of the film reads, “With his youngest daughter waiting for a liver transplant, Sharon sets her mind to helping the family and will move mountains to do it. What unfolds is the inspiring tale of faith, everyday miracles, and ordinary angels.”
The story resonated with Swank, who said she was drawn to the story “because it’s such a powerful reminder that angels reside everywhere among us.”
“And that faith, hope, grit and positivity are all powerful fuel for miracles,” she said. “It’s also a story about the power of organ donation — something incredibly near and dear to my heart. I couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of this story and message.”
Ordinary Angels will premiere Oct. 13 in theaters.
