Tom McCarthy, the director of the Academy Award-winning film Spotlight, is in talks to bring the hit true crime podcast S-Town to the big screen, according to a new report in Deadline.
The podcast series—from the team behind This American Life—tells the story of an eccentric man named John who suspects something bad is happening in his small-town in Alabama, and ends up contacting a radio reporter.
If you’ve listened to the podcast, you’ll know that from there, things take some very unexpected twists.
