Earlier this week, Richard Branson journeyed to the edge of space with five crew members as a test for his Virgin Galactic space tourism company. Exactly like The Simpsons predicted seven years ago.
An image from a 2014 episode of The Simpsons called “The War of Art” shows Branson floating in a spacecraft admiring a piece of art. It’s only a brief appearance, but it’s another moment to add to the long list of events The Simpsons has correctly predicted.
Even Branson’s company Virgin Atlantic acknowledged the cartoon’s prediction on their Twitter account.
The Simpsons predicted it… 👏

It’s a long-running joke that a writer for the cartoon has some sort of psychic abilities. Over the course of 32 seasons, the show has accurately predicted Super Bowl performances, Donald Trump’s presidential win, company acquisitions and so much more. Branson’s space exploration was the latest event The Simpsons got right, but it surely won’t be the last.
