On a recent episode of This Past Weekend, Theo Von shared that he and Morgan Wallen have been attending the same Bible study. The moment came during a conversation with comedian Leanne Morgan, who lit up when she learned the two artists were showing up to the same group.
“I’m going to see him tomorrow at Bible study, actually,” Von said.
Morgan immediately jumped in, calling Wallen “authentic,” which prompted Von to add that Wallen is “inspiring.” When she asked what the group was studying, Von admitted he wasn’t totally sure.
“Tomorrow I think we’re watching a movie… I’m not sure what chapter we’re on,” he joked. “Maybe I shouldn’t have said that.”
Von has been increasingly open about his desire for what he calls “spiritual cleanliness,” often speaking about his struggle with addiction and loneliness as well as his growing curiosity about faith. In a 2024 podcast episode, he told streamer Sketch that he’s been “looking for the Lord.”
Moments like this reflect a broader shift as more major podcasters bring faith into the conversation. Comedian Andrew Schulz, host of Flagrant, has spoken to several guests this year about Christian living, from Wesley Huff to Tim Tebow. Additionally, Joe Rogan has opened up this year about his experience attending a non-denominational church in Austin.
