The deadline for National Geographic’s Photo Contest is still a few days away (photographers have until Nov. 30 to submit their entries), but The Atlantic’s In Focus photo blog has posted a few of the early favorites along with captions from the photographers. Needless to say, they are all breathtaking images and contain their own amazing stories.
