A trailer for a new documentary about the rise of the Satanic Temple has just been released, and the movie appears to offer a more nuanced perspective on the controversial group.
The Satanic Temple gained national prominence when they attempted to have a massive statue of the winged, goat-headed Baphomet installed at the Oklahoma statehouse in protest of the public display of the Ten Commandments.
But, as the documentary explains, their actual beliefs—which have nothing to do with the supernatural—are more centered on religious freedom than they are with the devil.
