Disney has revealed a new trailer for Mary Poppins Returns, the upcoming revival starring Emily Blunt, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Colin Firth, Meryl Streep and … (wait for it) … Dick Van Dyke!
The new spot is loaded with treats the original teaser hadn’t showcased, including the movie’s blend of live-action with cartoon (predictably, it looks fun and joyful and comedic), Emily Blunt’s singing voice (predictably, lovely) and a host of new faces like Streep and Dyke. There are new parents and children and chimneysweeps this time around, but it seems the veterans are all here to react to the return of Poppins.
Of course, there’s also loads of fun magic on display, too, delivered with Mary Poppins’ typical matter-of-factness and unflappable poise. This movie looks like a winner. We’re excited.
Mary Poppins Returns will premiere around Christmastime, Dec. 19. Maybe bring tissues.
