During her two-night stint at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheater, Lauren Daigle brought out former America’s Got Talent contestant Ava Swiss for a special duet of Daigle’s song “Remember.” The song holds a special meaning to Swiss, who is a survivor of the Oxford High School shooting in 2021.
“Ava has something so potent to sing for,” explained Daigle. “I was so moved by her story… by her bravery, I went backstage earlier and just started bawling (because) I’m so proud of her, and she is so loved. I hope that our donation (to “42 Strong”) will make a difference.”
After the duo together, the Grammy award-winning singer surprised Swiss with a $25,000 check from Daigle’s Price Fund to “42 Strong,” a non-profit organization started by one of the victim’s families whose mission it is to “create a better future by helping students develop a greater sense of purpose, community, and resilience.” Daigle then went on to share that her PRice Fun will send an additional $25,000 to Colorado’s Healing Fund, which is an organization dedicated to providing immediate and long-term support to victim’s families and survivors in the aftermath of mass violence.
