Daily Show Announces Lineup of Guest Hosts for 2023

Trevor Noah will have his last laugh this week on The Daily Show, but it looks like the fun will continue with a long roster of guests hosts.

The Daily Show will rely on a rotation of celebrity guests hosts while looking for a replacement in 2023, and we’re not mad about the options. On the lineup, we’ve got SNL alums Leslie Jones, Sarah Silverman and former senator Al Franken; former late night hosts Chelsea Handler and Wanda Sykes; comedy actors D.L. Hughley, John Leguizamo, Kal Penn and Marlon Wayans; and former Daily Show regular correspondent Hasan Minhaj. Current correspondents and contributors such as Roy Wood Jr. and Dulcé Sloan will pop in as well, and there’s still hope for Jon Stewart to stop by.

Some hosts will take over for a week or two while others will only be on for a night.

Noah took over The Daily Show after Jon Stewart’s departure in 2015. For seven years, Noah brought humor, wit, sarcasm and a healthy amount of skepticism to current and pop culture events. But when Noah announced his departure at the end of September and it all felt, well, a little abrupt. During an evening taping of his show, Noah surprised the audience by announcing he’d made plans to leave.

“I’ve loved hosting this show. It’s been one of my greatest challenges. It’s been one of my greatest joys,” Noah shared. “But after seven years, I feel it’s time.”

Noah’s final show will air on Dec. 8.
