Check Out the First ‘WandaVision’ Clip in All Its 1950s Sitcom Glory

We’re just a couple weeks out from WandaVision, the first new MCU property in over a year and the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first real foray into television (if you don’t count Daredevil, Jessica Jones and the other Netflix shows, which Disney doesn’t seem to be). WandaVision will return Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany to their roles as Wanda Maximoff and the Vision and pick up after the events of Avengers: Endgame. As pretty much everyone knows, Vision met his untimely end in Avengers: Infinity War but he sure seems to be fine now, and that seems to be in keeping with this show’s very trippy energy, which is playing with time, toying with reality and jumping TV eras.

The newly released clip (which starts at the 4:24 mark in the embedded video) appears to take its cues from the Dick Van Dyke Show era (down to the separate beds), but we’ve also seen images that herald to 70s, 80s and 90s pastiche. It’s an extremely weird format that pays homage to Tom King’s comic book classic The Vision, which was likewise pretty psychedelic in its visuals and tone, and appears to be the blueprint for this show.

WandaVision will drop on Disney Plus on January 15.
