House of David Is the Second-Most Watched Show on Amazon Prime

Amazon Prime Video’s House of David, which has just been picked up for a second season, has officially climbed to the No. 2 spot on the platform’s Top 10 list, surpassing Invincible and its highly praised third season.

That means the biblical drama has overtaken a show with a devoted fanbase and strong critical reception, despite Invincible airing one of its most intense episodes ahead of its season finale. And House of David still has four more episodes to go, including a two-part David vs. Goliath finale, which will bring one of the most well-known biblical stories to life in a high-production adaptation. (Reacher continues to hold the No. 1 spot, a position it rarely gives up even between seasons.)

The show’s success comes as Amazon Studios deepens its investment in faith-based storytelling through its partnership with The Wonder Project, a production company focused on creating high-quality content centered on faith, family and purpose. With House of David performing well, this collaboration could signal more biblical adaptations and faith-driven projects coming to major streaming platforms.

“The reason I’m able to tell House of David at this scope and scale—what you need to tell David’s story—is because audiences have made their voices heard,” said series creator Jon Erwin. “These films have worked. They’ve made money. They’ve been successful in the industry. And when that happens, we get to level up each time, get more resources and refine our craft.”
