The king of clean comedy will take over TV’s biggest night.
Comedian Nate Bargatze will host the 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards, which will air live from Los Angeles on Sept. 14 on CBS and Paramount+.
“It’s a huge honor to be asked to host such an iconic awards show and I’m beyond excited to work with CBS to create a night that can be enjoyed by families around the world,” Bargatze said in a statement.
Bargatze, known for his clean comedy and laid-back style, has quickly become one of the biggest names in stand-up. He was the highest-grossing touring comic of 2024, hosted a fan-favorite episode of Saturday Night Live and recently signed on for his first feature film, The Breadwinner, coming in 2026.
Bargatze’s popularity has surged in recent years, thanks to his Netflix specials, sold-out arena shows and his ability to connect with audiences across generations. His signature style—relatable, observational and clean—has made him a go-to comic for people looking for something funny without the edge.
Bargatze explained to RELEVANT that he prides himself on creating comedy content that is safe for all ears.
“Everything’s really divided now,” he said. “TV shows are made for wives and husbands or kids. They’re not really made for families to sit and enjoy together anymore. That’s why I do what I do.
“I want you to be able to sit there with your family and have fun and not be worried,” he continued. “I’m just trying to entertain you. I’m trying to give you a break. Everybody has stressful lives, and you really need an outlet — and I can be that for you.”
