Prime Video just released the trailer for The Chosen Adventures, an animated spinoff of the hit series that will bring the story of Jesus to kids — with some surprising star power.
The 14-episode series (each running 11 minutes) follows nine-year-old Abby and her best friend Joshua as they wander through first-century Capernaum. Their world changes when they encounter Jesus — voiced by The Chosen’s own Jonathan Roumie.
The cast is stacked with unexpected names: I, Tonya’s Paul Walter Hauser voices Sheep, Insecure’s Yvonne Orji plays Pigeon and pop star Jordin Sparks voices Fish. Other familiar voices from The Chosen — including Elizabeth Tabish as Mary and Paras Patel as Matthew — round out the lineup.
Executive producer Dallas Jenkins says the show is designed to resonate across generations.
“It’s funny, heartwarming, for adults as well as kids, and it appropriately captures these great stories through the eyes of a child.”
All 14 episodes of The Chosen Adventures will stream on Prime Video starting Oct. 17.
