Tuesday marked the 25 year anniversary of Blue’s Clues and Nick Jr. commemorated the event by bringing Steve back to give a little update on how his life’s been going since he departed the series way back in 2002 and, uh, grab the tissues!

Whew. Did it hurt? When Steve told you he never forgot you, ever? Good grief, maybe all we needed all along was just for Steve to tell us that we could sympathize with student loans. That wouldn’t solve anything but it certainly wouldn’t make things worse. And if the responses are any indication, his message hit deep.

Can Steve come back and compassionately tell me how to get a Clue as an adult. Like how to qualify for a mortgage and meal prep?

For those not in the know, Blue’s Clues was a show about a dog named Blue and her adventures that map as fun lessons in child development. There have been a few hosts over the years but Steve Burns was the first and the one most closely associated with the show. In 2002, Burns left the show and was replaced by Donovan Patton. Burns’ departure will get you in the feels too, if you haven’t seen it since you were six.
