Hollywood loves to act like it’s in on the joke, but The Studio might be the first show to actually pull it off. Apple TV+ just dropped the trailer for Seth Rogen’s highly anticipated comedy, and if you’ve ever wondered what would happen if a movie studio was run by someone who actually cared, the answer is: absolute disaster.
Rogen stars as Matt Remick, the fresh-faced head of Continental Studios, a guy who thinks he can keep both the critics and the box office happy. The trailer teases everything from out-of-control directors to desperate execs, proving that making movies is way messier than it looks. Think The Office meets Entourage, but with Rogen’s signature chaotic energy—and a lot more studio notes.
The cast is stacked (Catherine O’Hara! Kathryn Hahn! Ike Barinholtz! Chase Sui Wonders!) and the cameo list is even wilder, with Martin Scorsese, Zoë Kravitz and Olivia Wilde all making appearances. But beyond the A-listers, The Studio looks like it’s got something real to say about the fine line between artistic ambition and industry absurdity.
The show drops March 26, but for now, the trailer is here to remind us that Hollywood satire is best served by someone who knows exactly how ridiculous the whole thing really is.
